Dr. Sean Tehrani is a seasoned healthcare executive with renowned success inspiring teams and enhancing performance through people-focused hospital administration. In his previous position as Vice President of Physician Services Dr. Tehrani developed and oversaw the Hospitalist programs for UNC REX Health in Raleigh, NC, Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, NC and Johnston Health Hospitals in Smithfield, NC and Clayton, NC. He also oversaw the Neurosciences Service Line, Intensivists, Neonatologists, Gastroenterologists and Pulmonologists at UNC REX Health. He joined UNC REX as Medical Director of the Hospitalist team in 1999 and subsequently joined the Executive team in 2014.
Dr. Tehrani has served on numerous medical staff committees, was the past Chairman of the Department of Medicine and the Medical Director of Information Technology at UNC REX Health. He was a board member of the REX Health Ventures, an innovation platform that fosters new technologies and companies in the healthcare sector. Dr. Tehrani received his Executive MBA from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a concentration in Strategy, Leadership, and Entrepreneurship and was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. He received his MD and completed his Internal Medicine Residency from George Washington School of Medicine. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of California where he received his BS in Biology.
