Sean Tehrani, MD, MBA
Founder & CEO
Dr. Sean Tehrani is a seasoned healthcare executive renowned for his ability to inspire teams and drive performance through compassionate healthcare management. With over 25+ years of experience working within the medical field, he has built a niche for himself providing medical care to patients with eating disorders and mental health disorders. Before founding Med-X, he served as the Vice President of Physician Services at UNC Rex Health, where he developed and oversaw multiple Hospitalist programs, as well as managed the Neurosciences service line, intensivists, neonatologists, gastroenterologists, and pulmonologists.
He had extensive involvement in medical staff committees, including chairing the Department of Medicine and leading initiatives in Information Technology at UNC Rex Health demonstrating his commitment to advancing healthcare delivery. He was a board member of Rex Health Ventures, an innovation platform that fosters new technologies and companies in the healthcare sector. In addition, he served as a member of the Board of Trustees and served on the Finance Committee for Urban Ministries, a nonprofit organization that provides free healthcare to the financially disadvantaged in Wake County, NC.
Dr. Tehrani received his Executive MBA from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a concentration in Strategy, Leadership, and Entrepreneurship and was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. He received his MD and completed his Internal Medicine Residency from George Washington School of Medicine. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of California where he received his BS in Biology.
Kimi Carlisle
VP of Business Development
Kimi Carlisle is a seasoned healthcare executive with a proven track record of success in operations and business development, focusing on building strong relationships and teams across the healthcare spectrum. With over 15+ years of experience in critical care nursing and clinical performance management, she has driven performance improvements and developed new programs to enhance patient outcomes. Touched personally by the impacts of mental health within her immediate family, Kimi has devoted her work to applying her experience and knowledge to the behavioral health and eating disorders industry. Her expertise in process implementation, performance management, and quality improvement leads to measurable improvements in key metrics such as patient satisfaction and throughput efficiency. Additionally, Kimi is dedicated to community wellness and has actively participated in disaster relief efforts and community health initiatives throughout her career.
Annika Simmons
Operations Coordinator
Annika Simmons is passionate about advancing access to care and strengthening operations to support high-quality health services. At Med-X Consulting, Annika supports operational initiatives to advance ongoing partnerships and the development of new ones.
Annika’s interest in the mental health space began during her internship with the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, where she learned and collaborated on the importance of holistic care in improving behavioral health outcomes. Community activism is a core value for Annika. Most recently, she volunteered with Get Covered Carolina, a student-run initiative at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she assisted uninsured individuals with enrollment in health coverage. This role gave her a firsthand look at the challenges of unequal access to care and inspired her commitment to pursuing a career impacting the disparities so prevalent in healthcare today. Annika earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Tam Le, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Tam Le’s journey into medicine was driven by her personal experiences growing up in a lower socioeconomic environment with limited access to healthcare. Since completing her residency, she has dedicated her career to working in behavioral health, with a particular focus on bridging the gap between behavioral health and medical care for underserved populations. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Le works to ensure that language barriers do not hinder access to quality care.
Dr. Le pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning a B.S in biology. She then earned her medical degree with a focus on clinical leadership in quality and safety from the UNC School of Medicine. Following this, she completed her Family Medicine Residency at the University of Florida. Most recently, Dr. Le was appointed as the Physician Representative on the NCAFP Member Satisfaction Committee.
Tiffany McClure, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Tiffany McClure is a board-certified family medicine physician with a strong commitment to mental health care, with particular focus on the evaluation and medical treatment of eating disorders. Her interest in the intersection of medicine and mental health began prior to medical school as a research assistant at the Child Trauma Research Program at UCSF. She furthered her research endeavors during medical school with the UCLA FIT for Healthy Weight Clinic, a multi-disciplinary clinic focused on childhood obesity. She spearheaded the outpatient eating disorder clinic in her residency program and continues to educate primary care providers on outpatient eating disorder management. Since residency training, she has been deeply involved in the medical management of eating disorders at different levels of care.
Dr. McClure earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude. Following her undergraduate studies, she worked in investment banking before pursuing a career in medicine. She completed her medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, graduating in the top 10 percent of her class. She completed residency training at John Muir Health, a community-based program affiliated with UCSF.
Stephanie Ballard, PhD, LPCC, CADC
VP of Marketing
Stephanie Ballard is a dynamic leader with over 12+ years of experience spearheading impactful initiatives in the behavioral health industry. Driven by a steadfast commitment to ensuring individuals have access to quality care, she seamlessly combines her clinical expertise with her marketing acumen to forge meaningful relationships and campaigns.
Stephanie leverages her diverse skill set to advocate for mental health awareness and promote initiatives that positively impact the lives of others.
She holds dual certifications as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor. Her educational journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Psychology.
